| The 3rd MTT running day was once again a tremendous success, with plenty of buses and action around the Liverpool streets.
Two 'new' buses appeared from the MTT for this event, Bristol RELL6G/Park Royal 2025 and Leyland Panther/MCW 1054, unfortunately the latter had to be taken out of service due to coolant problems. This shows the quality of restorations and authenticity as I would imagine that this also happened when they went into service in 1968! After being stored for over 20 years, these little niggling problems are bound to occur. The Ribble group supplied Leyland National 831 and Bristol RE 338. There were also other visiting vehicles, of which I didnt manage to get to study in detail .... Birkenhead & District Fleetline, Blackpool Atlantean, Barrow Atlantean, Leyland Tiger PS1 amongst others. The highlight of the day for me was seeing 1054 out, although I didnt get a ride out on her .... it was just fantastic at seeing her in use. I would like to thank the organisers and people involved for another splendid day. |
